I say god-head and not God or the goddess or Krishna etc, because the Angels 
    have their origins in almost every culture. So it would be a bit narrow minded 
    to say that they are specific to Christianity or Paganism. Different cultures 
    have their specific views about angels, some believe that they are just 
    messangers while others believe that they are beings that like to step in and 
    help wherever they can be it in dreams, inspiration or magick. I come from a 
    christian family so this page might lean towards some of the christian beliefs, 
    such as extracts from the Bible. 
    

 
    The Seraphim are those angels closest to divinity. They concentrate on
    vibration manifestations to keep divinity constant and intact, and are
    considered the angels of true love, light and fire. They make sure that
    no negative energy gets through to divinity, and help to create and 
    carry positive energy through all the choirs of angels and into the 
    physical realms. They don't encircle God and sing pretty songs to keep
    everybody happy. They encircle divinity to ensure it's continued 
    existance. Supposedly there are four chief angels, corresponding to the
    four winds,	who beat the air with six wings each. The four rulers of the
    Seraphim are Metatron(Satan), Kemuel, Nathanael, and Gabriel. Other
    angels named in this order are Seraphiel, Uriel and Michael. As you study
    and work with the nine choirs, you discover that several angels are
    mentioned in more than one category, moving up and down as the universe
    needs them. This is especially true for the four archangels (Michael,
    Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel). Seraphim are ceaseless in their work. They
    shine so brightly that a human would die of fright should he/she look
    upon one in it's full glory. Only God, the Lady and Michael are capable
    of complete interaction with them. The word	Seraphim means ardor, in
    other words they work with consuming divine love and compasion.
    

 
     Genesis 3:24 says of that God placed "on the east side of the Garden of 
    Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to 
    the tree of life." The Cherubim function as guardians of light and stars. 
    They are exquisite in form and supposedly "outshine" all the other 
    angels. They are Assyrian or Akkadian in origin, and their name means 
    "those who intercede" - mighty spirits of knowledge and boundless 
    love. Many human depictions of them are that of half human half animal. 
    Originally they were not angels at all but made their way into the hierarchy 
    over time. They guard any religeous temple. By name we have Ophaniel, Rikbiel, 
    Cherubiel, Raphael, Gabriel, Uriel and Zophiel. Why the art world has shrunk 
    these strong and attractive angels into midgets like beings that look like 
    babies I'll never know, I prefer to stick with the lion face and human body. 
    Many of the Egyptian deities, especially Sekhmet, Bast and Anubis, should be 
    considered Cherubim. 
    

 
    The Thrones( or Ophanim) are assigned to planets. They carry the name 
    "many- eyed ones", sort of private investigators of the divine, as 
    well as instructors of humility.Their name comes from the idea that all the 
    power of divinity rests on their stable shoulders. Justice is important to them. 
    The prince of the throne could be Oriphiel, Zabkiel or Zaphkiel. Other names 
    given are Raziel and Jophiel. Thrones take great interest in what humans do 
    although they may channel their energies through your guardian angel rather
    than deal with you directly. 
    

 
     The Dominions fill the role of divine leaders whos efforts involve integrating 
    the material and spiritual without losing control. They carry emblems of 
    authority such as scepters and orbs. The prince of this order is either Hashmal 
    or Zadkiel. Dominion is also the name of the oldest angel. Magickally all issues 
    of leadership fall under the dominions. They bestow natural leadership. 
    

 
    The Powers keep track of human history. The angels of birth and death belong to 
    this lineage. They organise the worlds religion and send divine energy to keep 
    the positive aspects of them going. They function as regulaors of chaos. Some 
    Theologeans think that the Powers were created before the other choirs. They are 
    sen as divine warriors who work through encompassing love. Although they 
    dispence discipline it is not done so in hatred. They will send a message when 
    someone is out to harm you, these may come in may different forms such as 
    feelings, dreams, bits of a conversation. According to hermetics the chief is 
    Ertosi. Sammael and Camael are also mentioned as leaders. 
    

 
    The virtues primary job is to move massive quantities of spiritual energies to 
    the earth plane and collective human consciousness. Known as the "miracle 
    angels" they bestow valor and grace. In the planetary scheme of the 
    Egyptians and hermetics the chief is Pi-Rhe. Among the ruling princes of the 
    order are Michael, Raphael, Barbiel, Haniel, Hamaliel, Tarshish, Paliel, 
    Sabriel, Uzziel and Peliel. Virtues are especially fond of people who try to go 
    beyond their capabilities to achieve more than everyone says they can. These are 
    the angels of nature. 
    

 
    The principalities are guardians of large groups, such as continents, 
    countries, or cities. Also other human creations on a large scale (like UNITA). 
    They work towards global reform. You find them wherever people gather for 
    descision- making, learning or just fun. They also create and funnel energy from 
    the divine to the physical and vice versa. The chief ruling angels in this group 
    are Raquel, Anael, Cerviel and Nisroc. In Egyptian lore the ruler in Suroth. 
    These angels are often calles Princes because of their association with cities, 
    countries, provinces, states etc. 
    

 
    Archangels are a strange bunch, they are sometimes associated with other 
    spheres, but enjoy dealing with humans when they can. They are the special 
    forces of the angelic realms, used to dealing with the highest rank to the new 
    born baby. They also create and funnel energy both ways. The four commonly 
    accepted ones are Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, and Ariel. Some other angels also 
    associated with the archangels are Metatron, Remiel, Sariel, Anael, Raguel, and 
    Raziel. 
    

 
    The angels are those assigned to specific people, often known as guardian 
    angels. they link themselves to matters of physical and human manifestation. 
    They too funnel energies. Our guardian angels are assigned to us through all 
    incarnations on earth. They are our best friends and our closest companions. 
    They were with us at our birth and will help us through the transition of death. 
    They defend us and assist us, they call upon the other nine choirs. However they 
    can't do much if we don't ask for their help. Our guardian angels are constantly 
    in contact with the other nine choirs. All laws cosmic and human are governed by 
    the angels. 
    

 
    The nurturing angels of Ceres are most interested in the principle of 
    unconditional love. They are angels of the great mother. They are supportive of 
    sharing and caregiving and work with Goddess energy and the female divine. 
    

 
    These angels are the feminine energy involved with intuition, flashes of sudden 
    genius and our abilities to formulate new and original thoughts. If there is a 
    psychic persuit that will uplift self-esteem and spirituality, they will be 
    involved. They enjoy artistic ability and will draw the creative energies out in 
    you. 
    

 
    The prime concern of Juno angels is the balance of power and our individual 
    freedom. Juno angels are interested in the feminine surge for harmony and 
    happiness in relationships. 
    

 
    Vesta angels represent the feminine aspirations to particular paths or goals. 
    They are interested in those who work hard to achieve their goals. They are the 
    guardians of the witches, those individuals who have taken an oath to serve 
    humankind with dedication and positive endeavors. 
    

 
    These are the angels who hold the keys to the universe. Chiron angels are 
    thought to be the male aspect of the wounded priest and in modern artwork
    appear as Centaurs (half man, half horse). They can open any door, heal
    anything that is broken. They are willing to help anyone who is
    self-sufficient or working towards a goal. They do not encourage us to sit
    back and relax but push us towards action and controlling our destinies. 
    

 
    These angels deal with responsibility and change. They are Orifiel, Kafziel, 
    Michael, Maion, Mael, Zaphiel, Schebtaiel and Zapkiel. The Saturn angels are 
    primarily concerned with authority, karmic lessons and boundaries. Call on these 
    angels for help with endurance and practicality. They are also concerned with 
    the affairs of the elderly. Saturn angels work well with the zodiac angels of 
    Capricorn, Virgo and Libra. They do not work well with Cancer, aries and Pisces. 
    

 
    When prosperity is on the horizon, look for these angels. They are Zachariel, 
    Zadkeil, Sachiel, Abadiel, Barchiel and Zadykiel. Jupiter angels are most 
    interested in growth potential and expantion on a variety of levels. Whether 
    it's physical, intellectual or spiritual growth these angels are willing o help 
    you. These angels have the ability to exagerate anything you desire. They govern 
    the accumulation of material assets and status and bolster your optimism. 
    Jupiter angels work well with the zodiac angels of Sagittarius, Cancer, Taurus 
    and Pisces. They do not work well with the zodiac angels of Gemini, Capricorn, 
    Virgo or Scorpio.
